Igor Zharinov

Biography

Igor Zharinov, DSc, graduated with honors from St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation in 1998 and completed his Specialist’s degree program in radio-electronic systems in 2000. 

He began his career in 1999 as an engineer at the experimental design bureau Elektroavtomatika in St. Petersburg. At the company, he has held the positions of an engineer, a lead engineer, and a chief specialist at its research department. In 2010, he was elected the head of the department of coordinational and production planning at Elektroavtomatika and in 2012 – the head of its educational and scientific center.

Igor Zharinov played a leading role in developing and launching mass production of aircraft systems and display facilities for flight-navigation complexes of Su-80GP, Su-25BM, Su-25UBM, Yakovlev Yak-130, Mikoyan MiG-AT, and other aeroplanes. 

Igor Zharinov was a lecturer at St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation from 2003 to 2010. In 2005, he joined ITMO University where was appointed the head of ITMO’s Department of Computer Design of On-Board Computer Equipment.

He successfully combined his work with PhD studies at St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (2000-2003) and then DSc studies at ITMO University (2009-2011).

Igor Zharinov received his PhD in 2004, the title of an associate professor in 2009, and his DSc in 2011. He authored and co-authored over 150 scientific and educational works, including six monographs and six inventions. He earned the medal of the Russian Ministry of Education in 2000.

His DSc thesis was devoted to construction principles and methods of automated design of computers of integrated systems for on-board equipment.
