Housing

ITMO students have a wealth of options to choose from when it comes to housing, including living on or off campus.

Dorms

Most of the university’s international students live in dorms, which are conveniently situated near central metro stations and, what’s more, the city’s main attractions.

The university offers two types of dorms: block-type and corridor-type. Block-type housing includes blocks of 2-3 rooms with a bathroom that you share only with your block neighbors and a kitchen on the floor. Whereas the corridor-type dorm has rooms situated along a corridor with both bathrooms and cooking facilities shared by all the students living on the floor.

Both types of dorms are multi-story buildings with rooms fully equipped for your comfort and convenience. Depending on the venue and the number of residents living in the dorm, one dorm room can accomodate from 2 to 4 people. Some dorms also have their own study rooms, gyms, libraries, laundries, and even parking areas. For your safety, there’s a concierge at the entrance.

The average cost of living in a university dorm is between 998 and 3,302 rubles/mo depending on the number of residents, the room, and the facilities available.

Renting

Some students may opt to live off campus by renting an apartment or sharing one with friends. Rental costs vary greatly depending on the location of the property, its age and condition. On average, prices range between 15,000 and 35,000 rubles (plus utility bills) depending on the number of rooms in the apartment and its location.
