Center for Chemical Engineering

Александр Подшивалов

Part of ITMO’s School of Computer Technologies and Control, the Center for Chemical Engineering specializes in the development of advanced materials and technologies for chemical engineering, bioengineering, medicine, agriculture, and sustainable production.

Education

Bachelor’s programs

Bioengineering (12.03.04 Biotechnical Systems and Technologies; 18.03.02 Energy- and Resource Saving Processes in Chemical Technology, Petroleum Chemistry and Biotechnology)

This Bachelor’s program trains highly-skilled professionals who are competent in computer modeling and analysis of biological objects and systems, as well as in creating biological materials. In this program, students study biotechnology, bioengineering, biopolymers, information systems and modeling, molecular spectroscopy, analytical and physical chemistry, as well as automation of biotechnical processes and productions.

Master’s programs

Chemoinformatics and Bioengineering (12.04.04 Biotechnical Systems and Technologies)

The program provides training in chemistry, multidimensional data processing, modeling, bioengineering, chemical engineering, as well as biotechnical systems and sensors, thus preparing students to solve such tasks of product engineering as comprehensive analysis of scientific,  business, and production issues.

The program’s partner is Pasteur Institute in St. Petersburg.

Bioeconomics and Resource Management (18.04.02 Energy- and Resource Saving Processes in Chemical Technology, Petroleum Chemistry and Biotechnology)

Students of the program study the principles of information technology and modeling, ecology and physical and chemical analysis methods, recycling and waste management, nanotechnology and general chemistry technology. In addition to technical disciplines, students master economics, logistics, and enterprise resource planning.

The program’s partner is Gazprom Neft.
