  • Energy systems engineering;

  • Energy efficiency and renewable energy;

  • Low-temperature technology and energy;

  • Compressor technologies;

  • Information technologies in the energy sector;

  • Energy-efficient engineering systems and LNG technologies;

  • Information technologies in thermophysics;

  • LNG technology and equipment;

  • Energy conversion technologies and systems;

  • Decarbonization in the fuel and energy complex.

Graduates of the center hold leading positions at major Russian and international companies or build their startups. The center has more than 200 industrial partners, including Power Machines, ENTECHMACH, Gazprom Neft, Gazprom, Gazprom LNG St. Petersburg, Novatek, Kamaz, Compressor, ARSMASH, Almaz-Antey Corporation, Kometa Corporation, Avangard, Elektropribor, Morsvyzavtomatika, Titan, Technology Bureau, Klimatika, LAND, Penzkomressormash, Vineta, Nornickel, NLML Ural, Nevsky Zavod, Technofrost, Atomprojekt, Rostech, Mitsubishi Electric Russia, Thermex Group, Daikin, and many others.

The well-developed and systematic collaborations with industrial partners established at the center manifest as:

  • internships at the center’s partner companies;

  • the needs of the partner companies as the foundations for student term, graduation, and dissertation papers;

  • advanced training courses for the companies’ employees;

  • joint participation in competitions, grant programs, etc.

To support talented youth, the center launched the student design bureau Engineers of the Future where students solve tasks provided by partner companies under the supervision of experienced researchers.

The center includes two Academic Degree Councils in the following subject ares:

  • 1.3.14. Thermal Physics and Theory of Heat Engineering;

  • 2.4.8.  Machines, Devices, and Processes of Cryogenic, Air Conditioning, and Life Support Systems.

Among the center’s employees are 11 DSc and 21 PhD holders, as well as 13 lecturers. This unique combination of academic and teaching staff trains highly competent specialists who work at leading companies in the field.
