Considered a booming field of the 21st century, life sciences is a branch of science that deals with living organisms and life processes. Although its core lies in biology, its scope expands well beyond various interdisciplinary fields such as molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology.

This relatively new yet highly promising field is now pursued at ITMO University. ITMO’s School of Life Sciences was established in August 2021 and includes the following departments: 

• Infochemistry Scientific Center
• Faculty of Biotechnologies
• ChemBio Cluster

The purpose of the School is to provide the most sought-after educational programs and cutting-edge research, as well as create the technologies of the future in collaboration with the world’s top-ranked universities, as well as international research centers and laboratories.
