Career options
Graduates of the program will become bioinformatics experts working in the fields of personalized medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, software development, and many others. Moreover, specialists with a Master’s degree may further pursue their academic careers by entering leading PhD programs in Systems Biology and related fields.
Program description
Currently, computational methods are widely used in biology mostly due to the fact that research inevitably comes with Big Data. Thus, future specialists need to possess the skills to be able to work with large amounts of data and to interpret them correctly.
Our program trains a new generation of professionals capable of developing and applying bioinformatics methods to solve unconventional problems arising in fundamental and experimental biology. Students will gain an opportunity to complete the full path from high-throughput data to computational analysis and to testable hypotheses in several research fields.
Specializations
-
Data Analysis in Biology: the specialization is aimed at students with biological and medical backgrounds wishing to master the skills of programming, data processing, and statistical analysis and their application in different fields of bioinformatics.
-
Algorithmic Bioinformatics: the specialization is designed for students with informatics, mathematics, and other technical backgrounds who want to apply their knowledge in bioinformatics. It also includes advanced courses in statistics and algorithms, as well as introductory courses in molecular biology.
Benefits
