Program description

The program blends both theoretical and practical competencies in the fields of chemistry, biology, physics, and instrumentation. It also includes scientific and methodological research in bioengineering, biotechnical and multisensory systems and technologies, research of real environments and objects, nanophotonics and optics.

Students can participate in scientific and applied projects by leading Russian and international universities and companies and acquire a practical background in solving real-world problems.

The university engages scientists, researchers, and experts to the program to provide an integrated approach to learning. Working in groups helps students acquire competencies in preparing and presenting the results of their research work to the scientific community and for publications in peer-reviewed journals. After finishing the program, graduates will be able to tackle professional challenges using the best available technology (BAT).


  • Bioengineering and Biomaterials

The specialization trains experts in bioengineering, smart materials, technology, and national economy. By choosing Bioengineering and Biomaterials, students acquire extensive knowledge and skills in the following fields: computer modeling and bioinformatics, the creation and analysis of biological objects and polymer systems, etc. Graduates of the program will be able to work in the field of biotechnology, bioengineering, next-gen materials for medical and pharmaceutical industries, microbiology, structural biology, bioinformatics, etc.

  • Multisensory Systems

This specialization is aimed at training specialists in the development and creation of express diagnostic systems for real environments, including through the use of the best available technology (BAT) and Lab-on-a-chip technologies. Students will learn how to address challenges comprehensively with the help of an interdisciplinary approach. This approach makes it possible not only to select convenient methods but also to create ready-made technologies considering the specifics of environments. This specialization is especially relevant for organizations operating non-invasive methods of diagnostics and research in various fields (medicine, ecology, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, etc.).
