Education

1971 – Chemical Engineering of Bioactive Substances, St. Petersburg State Chemical Pharmaceutical University.

1971-1985 – a senior researcher, Leningrad Branch of the Scientific Research Institute of the Bakery Industry;

1986 – an employee, Department of Food Biotechnology (Vegetable Stock), Leningrad Technological Institute of Refrigeration (now ITMO University); 

2004-2016 – the head of the Department of Food Biotechnology (Vegetable Stock), ITMO University;

2016-present – a professor at the Faculty of Biotechnologies, ITMO University.

Research

Tatyana Meledina began her research career in 1972. She has implemented projects at brewing and yeast industries, as well as supervised 15 PhDs and 1 DSc holder. 

Current projects

  • Biotechnologies, Processes, and Equipment for Producing Functional Foods;

  • Study of Yeast Strain Y-3194 in the Baking Industry. 

Teaching 

Tatyana Meledina was the head of the educational program Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks and continues to supervise Master’s, PhD, and DSc students.

Dr. Meledina’s fields of interest include biotechnologies and production of functional foods.
