Responsibilities

• manage research;

• head the development of technical specializations, methodological and working programs, feasibility studies, and predictions and proposals for relevant sectors of economy, science, and technology;

• determine co-executors of planned research activities;

• supervise projects on issues set by the unit’s plan;

• organize patenting of science and technology achievements, as well as  registration of inventions and proposals.

Education

1974 – optical devices and spectroscopy, LITMO University (now ITMO University);

1980 – PhD degree in optics, LITMO University (now ITMO University).

Professional activity

2009-present – the head of the Research Laboratory for Computer-Aided Design of Optical-Information and Energy Saving Systems, ITMO University;

1974 – junior researcher at ITMO University.

Professional interests

Optical systems design, photonics, artificial intelligence, computer vision systems, and theory of optical devices.

Awards

1998 – Erna and Victor Hasselblad Award for scientific paper on creation of the heuristic synthesis procedures for multiconfiguration photographic objectives starting points selection, Sweden;

2006 – award by the Russian Ministry of Education;

2007-2008 – title of the Best Inventor by St. Petersburg’s Council of Universities;

2012 – award by the Government of St. Petersburg for innovative methods in professional education.

• expert in research and technology at Scientific Research Institute – Federal Research Centre for Projects Evaluation and Consulting Services;
