    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

    Developed in collaboration with leading companies in the field, the program covers the full spectrum of topics in the field of optoelectronics, such as light-emitting diodes, laser diodes, photodetectors and photovoltaics. 

    The education process is organized in such a way that allows Master’s students to see the theory they learn during lectures in action at real-world production plants. This provides for comprehensive development of essential professional skills alongside fundamental training. The emphasis in the training of specialists is put either on the development of technologies for the production of optoelectronic components or the design and development of optoelectronic complexes, integrated information and communication systems and integrated security systems for applied tasks. 

    PROGRAM RELEVANCE

    Optoelectronics is a fast-growing science and technology field. Global informatization and digitalization of the society and economy in the past ten years led to a 50-fold increase in the amount of internet traffic and cloud data. Even right now, 10% of the world’s electricity is spent on the internet. The increase in the amount of transmitted data drives the advancement of requirements for the speed of data transmission and energy consumption. Light technologies and optoelectronics are becoming the foundation for energy-efficient and high-speed information and communication systems of the future. This creates a high demand for specialists capable of solving experimental, technological and production tasks in the new and fast-developing field of LED technologies and optoelectronics – the kind of training provided by this program – and promotes further development of scientific and industrial areas related to semiconductor nanostructure technologies.
