Biography

Prof. Aliev graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics (LITMO) in 1968. He started his career at LITMO in 1968 as an engineer.

In 1973, he defended his PhD thesis, and in 1977 he became an associate professor. In 1990, he defended his DSc thesis, and in 1991, he became a professor.

In 1974-1975, he conducted a research internship at Technische Universität Wien (former Technische Hochschule).

His research interests include analytical and simulation modeling, among others.

Prof. Aliev is the author of more than 100 publications in scientific journals.

Among the courses he teaches at ITMO University are “Theory of Computing Systems”, “Systems Engineering”, “Modeling”, and “Computer Networks and Telecommunications”.
